Spring is coming!!!

I haven't updated this blog in awhile, but i plan on doing so on a regular occasion. What you will see here leading up into the summer and beyond is edits, pictures, and random post having to do with anything.

Most of the time these days i find myself watching the Olympics and getting excited about baseball spring training. Also i cant wait to get skates back on my feet and to go out and skate the university again. This will have to wait because my license is currently suspend intill march 11.

Here are acouple photos of the wheels in the packaging and outside of the packaging with bearings in them right before I threw them on my skates. I will continue this review within acouple months of getting a good impression of how these wheels preform.

Undercover Wheel Review

First Impressions:
(Only skated 1 session)
I just copped the Sean Kelso pro wheels (57mm, 89A) from Undercover's new line. Undercover has been making big promises with these wheels, and I was anxious to give them a try. The first thing I noticed about these wheels were of coruse the intense colours. Undercover claims the new pro line of wheels are the highest quailty of urethane available to date. Holding the wheels, they felt super soild and grippy. I threw some mix-match bearings in them (Vicious and a few cheapies) and the moment I stepped into the park I was flying!
The wheels almost do the work for you on transistions and quater-pipes. It boosts you right up to the copping without effort. They are also the smoothest ride I have ever had. They turn well, and don't slip at all in a wooden park. I have nothing negative to say about these wheels so far. Just when I was convinced Euolgy produced the best wheels, they might be 2nd to UC. I'll post photos of the wheels once I get the time.

Endorsement Clothing is Dead

Well the way i look at it its always been dead. Endorsement clothing to me has just been an idea, an idea that i never really put the time into it or the money to make it happen. Its more of hobby and a way to support my to closest friends and favorite rollerbladers Will Broeze and Warren Hutton. I love you guys. Even though endorsement clothing is dead, doesnt mean ill find other ways to promote rollerblading in canada, mainly in my hometown of Guelph,ont. I have some ideas i wanna go forward with once i have the required money. Ill still update this blog with pictures, edits, and random shit for fun. Thanks for all the guys even though few that have been excited about endorsement, i appreciate it.

Aragon 2 Review Update & Contest Updates

Sorry about the lack of updates and delay with the Aragon 2 review.
We have had some issues with internet connections that are preventing us to send the clips to be edited, but hope to have these issues cleared up, and begin the editing process before the new school year is at a start.
There have also been 2 contests our riders have placed in the past 2 months.
Warren Hutton tied for 3rd place in the AM division at the "Holy Shoot, It's A Guelph Contest", and both Warren Hutton & William Broeze placed in the Brampton Competition 2 this past weekend. Warren placed 10th, and Will placed 6th in the AM division.

Expect the video edit for Warren's Aragon 2 review be online by the end of September; at the very latest.

The BBQ is sponsered by Zehrs, while the event is sponsers by PB and Shop-Task.
Both EC team riders will be competing in the AM division.

Come out and enjoy a full and fun day of rollerblading in and with the kids from one of the most rugid towns in Ontario.

So on Monday warren and will decided to skip out of school to do some skating. After hitting up car wash ledge and curve to warm up we headed to the long mellow retirement rails. We got a couple of pictures before getting kicked out.

NEW BOOT MOLD
The new boot mold is really something else. Its' almost like a mix of cults and geneyes boots. The boot is overall more narrow than a geneyes mold, and possibily a cult (but I have never skated a cult mold before) When I first put the skate on, it seemed odd from my geneyes because the toe is alot wider, but this is actually a positive on the skate. The wider toe allows your foot to move around in your skates on topside tricks to bend and lean into the trick however you want. Along with the new boot mold they have also created a new cuff for the superlights. They are alittle higher rised than a traditional razors cuff, but feel even better. Straight out of the box, the cuffs are flexy. They are formed differently around the buckle area, which helps protect and keep the buckle within your cuff. The superlight really sticks to its name. It has over a pound difference in weight with each boot - which is a big difference, but a huge relief when jumping over and onto bigger things. The plastic material they use seems to be a thinner and flexier type of plastic which feels great on your feet. The boot is still plenty soild but also offers plenty of flexibilty on different tricks.

NEW SOUL PLATES / BS PLATES
The new soul system on the superlight is the best soul plate I have ever skated on. The huge bs plate offers plenty of room to lock all your torque tricks soild, without slipping out or sticking. The sliders create a completely flat grind surface, with plenty of soul room to allow you to lock tricks soild, both on rails and ledges. From personal experience, topside and ao topside tricks on ledges became alot easier with these skates - I can do them with ease now. Another thing that surprized me was the speed of the soul sliders and bs plate. Incredibily icey. The newly designed baseplate, which is what your sliders attach to, is very soild feeling and keeps your foot low to the plastic which actually does give you a more direct and contact feel with all your tricks.

OVERALL
The new Razors Superlight boot is really something the skating industry needed. They litterally make rollerblading easier to do, and bigger tricks are funner to do. The weight difference is a noticiable one - and really makes the skate different from all the others. The thinner profile of the SL makes the boot easy to move around on your foot. The neutral colours will suit any skater with any style - with style. The Jug liner included with the skate works very well. I skated Regin neoprane liners for a year and half straight before - I tried them inside the superlight and they didn't compare to the aragon Jug liners. Instead of Featherlite frames, I've been skating Formula 1 frames for about four months now and I'm not interested in the whole concept of FLT. Instead of the stock M1 wheels, which infact are quailty wheels, I switched to the ultimate in wheels and bearings, Euolgy and Crap. I was alittle nervous about having to get use to a new skate, after skating my S6's for a year and a half, and feeling very comfortable with them. Once I got the liners to fit my foot properly and banged out acouple drops and busted some nice grinds - the SLs' feel better than my geneyes ever did.

Don't you worry, Endorsement is still kickin'. Canada may not be buried in snow anymore, but our team is buried in schoolwork and jobs. Warren Hutton is currently waiting for his new Razors Aragon 2 skates to arrive in the mail, so expect a review and photoset within the next couple months. Jonathan Buchner is currently looking into inventory on the new Endorsement line, due out late summer. Will Broeze is working hard, but also working on getting more and more photos and clips.

I have been skating Ground Control frames since the Murda freestyle h-block concept came out back around '04-'05. GC frames are very universal and easy to skate, which have helped me alot with learning my tricks. GC is known for thier quality and simple proven ideas, which hasn't changed with the new F1 frames.
When I took the frames out of the box, and looked at them I was very excited to see how they would skate. The new concept of the Formula 1 frame is to have a frame base, with a large h-block/insert for durability & customization reasons. The oversized h-block screws directly onto the boot, providing more control & stiffness. The plastic material has changed from the older model frames (3rd generation, bullet, dual-injection) which seems to be much faster and smoother. One thing I noticed when I first began skating these frames is there is no longer any noise coming from the frame when you land, no clicking & no banging. The new concept has made the frame super strudy. Another thing I noticed is when breaking in the frame - there is a softer layer of plastic on the outside to help with custom grooving of the h-block. The frame is still has durable as the older GC's. The frame profile is very slick, and has been changed from previous models to increase the thickness of the plastic around the axle. The original GC h-block that everyone loves is still the same.
I've been skating the F1's for alittle over 2 months now, and due to the canadian winters, I haven't had much of an oppurtunity to skate alot of street, mostly just park and indoor spots. The frame is still basicilly brand new, with only wax marks from rails, and the odd groove from park ledges. They haven't slowed down at all, and seem much faster than any other frame I've ever skated. I would easily rate these frames a 10/10 because of the speed of the plastic, the durability & strength of the frame. They've made all changes nessacary - without changing the basis of the tradititonal GC frame.
